Bonds and Overrides, Seems To Be A Hot Topic For The Cave Creek Unified School District Community!

Well Cave Creek School District has no bond or override on the ballot this year, and we’re another year away from that even being a topic so if you’re holding out hope for some mythical pot of gold hidden in the current school district budget due to mismanagement 💸, think again. The reality is that we’re stuck in a funding 💰crunch with no quick fix in sight. And let’s be clear: if you think this isn’t about money, you’re missing the point. The funding gap is real, and it’s not going away on its own. So, the question remains: what’s the plan to solve our district’s financial challenges?

It’s interesting how some folks respond with, “Dan, nice try, but it can’t be done,” or “It’ll take too long.” Respectfully, Candidates challenging the plan only doubt it because they don’t have one of their own—or the experience to rally support if they did. If they truly believed in their ideas, they’d be leading the charge, not sitting on the sidelines criticizing. I’m here because I’ve got the strategy, and the drive to bring people together and tackle these funding issues head-on. Doubt is easy; action takes courage.

This isn't about what a person is for or against, this is about setting our District up for success by exploring every option and execute on the one/ ones that makes the most sense.

Here’s another possibility to explore—and before we dive in, let me be clear: I support funding that makes sense and is responsible for our District. This isn’t some political stance; it’s just good business. Whether you’re raising capital for a startup or managing a budget for a company, common-sense operations apply. So, let’s think outside the box: what if CCUSD were to forgo its right to bonds and overrides entirely? The slide below shows the potential revenue impact if that became a reality. We need to be curious and consider every angle to give our district the best shot at success. And to those who argue that other districts are thriving while CCUSD is failing, I’d suggest they spend a little more time doing their homework—because it seems Dr. Google is failing them in their research.
